Why Aligning Your Goals and Core Values is the Key to Success

Posted by REBS Team

What you want your business to do and what you want your business to be are two different things. If you’re trying to move forward without these two areas being in agreement—or without even knowing what your core values are, you can’t reach the level of success you want. This week REBS superstars Allen and Crystal discuss the benefits they experienced in their business after making that connection and taking action on it.

No Half Measures

The first step Allen and Crystal took was to embrace the Real Estate B-School principles. They saw the opportunity to get coached on both leadership and systems, and they took it. The changes that needed to happen in their business—whether that was recognizing what their internal roles should be or releasing agents that weren’t a good fit with their goals and core values—were clear when they let themselves be open to a new way of doing business.

Hiring to Your Core Values

After completely letting go of their previous team, they had faith. They knew if they recruited the right way, they could find the right people. Going through that process can be tough. But as Allen and Crystal learned, when building your team, resist the pressure to simply put warm bodies in seats. Their realization that they could hire to their core values took them to the next level of success.

Reaching Goals with Everyone on Board

Hiring to the systems and the core values really works. The next step, though, is to keep the team as invested and enthused as you are. So wrap your team into the goal-setting process, and you’ll get their buy in. After setting your annual goals, share your excitement and inspire buy-in by presenting them to your team. When Allen and Crystal’s team understood where they’d been, where they were going and exactly how they were going to get there, they walked out of the annual meeting totally amped up to tackle 2017.
