Leverage can be applied in your personal life, in addition to your business

When numerous tasks and errands pile onto your plate, it can keep you from being present where it matters. You can easily leverage those things out, like buying your groceries online or picking them up at a drive through.

Be mindful of the people you keep around you and how they affect your life and outlook

There are people out there who genuinely don’t wish others well, who will be hateful and negative no matter how much good you do for them. Don’t let those people impact your life, goals, or dreams.

Don’t compare—modify things to work for you

Real estate agents are often super competitive by nature, but this crosses into unhealthy territory when you start comparing yourself to other agents and thinking you should copy exactly what they are doing. Ask yourself what would make you, your family, and your team happy. Then if the system is great, modify it to make it work for your business.

Conventional success in our industry is measured by the number of homes we sell—not by the quality of our relationships, the happiness of our families or our health. If we go by this classification, we can easily run ourselves into the ground working all the time. Remember, we have to be purposeful with our time, our minds, and who we let into our world. Business matters, but it’s not ultimately what’s important. We should structure our real estate lives around what really matters to us.
