It was 2014 when Kerby Skurat and his wife Cristina came into my world here at Real Estate B-School. It's been an awesome story and this year they closed 549 homes last year.
Kerby got into the business on his own, and now spends about 5 hours per week there, with his wife running the business full time. Their story is great - here's a quick snapshot of what they did last year.
Kerby started in 2008 after a career at General Mills. He decided to jump ship and sold 13 homes his first year. Since then, he's come a long way. He started doing short sales, got married in 2009, and partnered with her and began building their team in 2010.
Kerby is a big numbers guy - keeping track of his numbers lets him look back and see what he's doing right and wrong. He also likes to promote up from within, onboarding people and bringing them up through the company.
SOI has been the heartbeat of Kerby's company since he started in 2008 - and since 2015 he has sold 1030 homes from his sphere of influence marketing. PPC, Zillow, and Farm & Radio are his other biggest business pillars.
Every month, newsletters go out to their clients and prospects, complete with news and hot listing. It's paid off over $1M/year since he's implemented it.
Everything Kerby does is strategically planned to advance his business and improve on systems or people. Their 33 touch strategy is something that builds their rapport with clients and it will never go away - it's a critical part of Kerby's process.
What processes and systems do you have in place that are serving you well? What is the lifeblood of your business?
