Are you looking for the blind spots in your business and your life? Here’s what I mean by blind spots - we have a tendency as real estate team leaders to live in the clouds. A lot of that serves us well - in terms of visionary tendencies, I see the way I want something to be in the future, and I’ve always been good at connecting the dots to get there.
As I’ve spent time in the clouds (and I’m not bad at playing in the dirt either, so to speak), we tend to not see how our actions affect others.
A Real estate team leader will go to a conference, hear an idea, come back, and change something up. They’ll add a lead source, change their website, or shift something, flippantly without considering how it will affect others.
When that happens, that leader may have turned a blind eye to their team, in a sense. When we get too focused on one thing, we start to put on blinders and lose sight of the other things that we have going well for us already.
What we need is a third party to come in and take a look at the company. Usually this comes in the form of a coach. A business coach is trained to examine and audit the whole business, and be able to give advice and suggestions as a neutral party. They can pick up on things you might be missing.
Do you have a third party checking for your blind spots? Are you able to look at your business objectively and see them yourself? What would you change about your business if you had someone who could look at it and point out what might be missing?
